Sunday Market and a Tropical Banana Smoothie

Although it’s only 13oC in Christchurch today, the sun is out and that’s all the excuse I need to whip up a tropical smoothie and pretend I’m in Fiji. This deliciously nutritious beverage is made with the fresh produce I purchased at the Riccarton Rotary Sunday Market, this morning. If you haven’t been to the Sunday market yet, then you definitely should (you can find all sorts of knick knacks for reasonable(ish) prices) – For instance, the produce is almost always cheaper than what you’ll find at a supermarket. Anyways, back to Fiji – I try not to overcomplicate my smoothies, I find a few simple, yet rich ingredients can go a long way.

1 cup almond milk (any type of milk will work)
1 frozen banana
1/2 mango
1/2 avocado
2 tsp honey

Place all ingredients in a blender and whizz on high for 1-2 minutes or until smooth.

Enjoy straightaway!
