Because You Are Alive, Everything Is Possible.

Been reading a bit of Thich Nhat Hanh. I love him. Even if I can’t pronounce his name. Very inspirational. Just like Antibes. No wonder so many Artists were drawn here (excuse the pun). This light is magical.

People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child — our own two eyes. All is a miracle.

Smile, breathe and go slowly.

If you love someone, the greatest gift you can give them is your presence.

You must be completely awake in the present to enjoy the tea. Only in the awareness of the present, can your hands feel the pleasant warmth of the cup. Only in the present, can you savor the aroma, taste the sweetness, appreciate the delicacy. If you are ruminating about the past, or worrying about the future, you will completely miss the experience of enjoying the cup of tea. You will look down at the cup, and the tea will be gone. Life is like that. If you are not fully present, you will look around and it will be gone. You will have missed the feel, the aroma, the delicacy and beauty of life. It will seem to be speeding past you. The past is finished. Learn from it and let it go. The future is not even here yet. Plan for it, but do not waste your time worrying about it. Worrying is worthless. When you stop ruminating about what has already happened, when you stop worrying about what might never happen, then you will be in the present moment. Then you will begin to experience joy in life.

      1. Maybe I am not the best person to ask such advice because I am trying and still I am not able to make a living from my writing, apart from work I did for Dreampainters soft. I thought that you had started a collaboration as a travel journalist and I hoped that that was your income after the teaching in Japan had come to an end. Maybe you should stop a little more in a single country and work as au pair. I suppose there are lots of agencies and you have two valuable skills: you know and teach English, and you have experience with children care. Try to consider as well to make a stop at home, in New Zeland, to recharge your traveller batteries, your pockets and make new planes with a lighter heart. Sorry if I am meddling too much with my words, maybe all you wanted was a little understanding. I wish you all the best, Nina :*

      2. Please don’t apologise at all! I appreciate every single word, Nina. You are right, I think going back is a very good idea which is why I’ll be home for Xmas this year! I am so excited to see my mom! I am working as a writer part-time which is better than nothing! However, in saying so, after I wrote you that comment, I read in my Big Magic book by Elizabeth Gilbert that we should never put pressure on our art to provide for us. So, I have changed my mind, I will continue to write and do what I do because I love it and because it makes me happy. As for income, as you say, I can do many things like take care of children etc. And you? How are you? Are you well? Is your heart happy? Sending you all of my love xxx

      3. Thank you, Anisa. You are a kind soul :) I am well, thanks, and I am going to lift the weight of earning me money from my creativity as well next year. I think this note from Ms Gilbert it’s a no-nonsense piece of advice ;) I am happy you are going to embrace your family again soon. I send you all my positivity :*
